Art at Harrowbarrow School

Please find our intent, implementation and impact statement for Art here. Alongside developing their artistic skills, children also increase their art knowledge through a range of topic themed learning activities. For more information about what this looks like, see our long term progression plan for art (this is a working document so subject to regular change).

Last year, we hosted a whole school Art day where each teacher ran a workshop based around a different illustrator and their preferred media. We were lucky enough to have workshops on watercolour inspired by the work of Nick Butterworth, oil pastels inspired by the work of Chris Van Allsburg, pencil inspired by the work of the late Raymond Briggs and ink inspired by the work of Dr Seuss.

We hope you enjoyed the opportunity to see this work displayed at the village hall during our festive performances.
